Profab designed & manufactured single, double & triple door access panels that met all the design criteria presented by the client. Profab’s technical team was involved in the project design process at an early stage, meaning design ideas were exchanged between Profab & the client. Additionally, a prototype access panel was manufactured & fitted into a mock up room before final approval & production. Specific requirements & Profab solutions are detailed below: -
Requirement: – The panels needed to be air tight to aid thermal insulation & eliminate drafts.
Solution: - Profab designed the panels to incorporate a Lorient Double Batwing seal; these seals create an air tight chamber between the door & frame giving excellent thermal insulation, as well as acoustic performance. Additionally medium security sealed cylinder locks were used – giving the best air tightness as well as tamper proof security.
Requirement: - Full access was required to the roller shutter units for maintenance purposes.
Solution: - Profab designed the panels to incorporate a ‘lift out’ door, meaning the maximum possible internal aperture was possible.
Requirement: - Space for the access panels was limited by the structural steel lintels & the dry lined walls, meaning only a 22.5mm thick panel was possible.
Solution: - A clever access panel design was chosen incorporating a slim but robust door & project specific frame fixing points meant that no performance was compromised. |
