INTRODUCTION
The PROFAB 4000 series range of steel lockable access panels is available in three separate designs that can provide access with up to 2 Hours fire resistance into jointless plaster/plasterboard wall/partitions. Used widely in service shafts, corridors and protected zones, where access to mechanical and electrical service and aesthetics need not to be compromised by fire safety. Access is often a multi-door requirement and up to 2800mm in height

DESCRIPTION

COMPOSITION & MANUFACTURE

A precision welded, strong metal frame holds a flush metal door through a concealed pivot hinge device Actual construction varies dependant on size and fire
performance requirements. The door is held closed with a choice of locking systems and opens outwards
towards the user. Doors are removable if damage occurs or during installation. Panels with simulated dry-wall beaded frames (BF) or wet plaster frames (WPF) are jointed/plastered over on site and finished to match the colour/texture of the adjacent surface. Retrofitted panels have a picture-frame surround (PF) and are factory finished in powder coated semi-gloss white paint. A constant 2mm gap is maintained between the door and frame by the 'Dome Location' system.

4000/NFR (Non Fire Rated)

OTHER OPTIONS
The 4000 series is designed to provide a range of high performance access panels which are easy and economic to install. With Profab's manufacturing flexibility, modifications are available with this product, offering alternative sizes, locks and paint colours/finishes. Discussions with Profab should take place at the earliest opportunity if specification changes are being considered.

INSTALLATION
An aperture formed in a masonry or dry lined wall should be correctly formed and adequately supported. It must be in strict accordance with the system manufacturer's details and recommendations, enabling it to take the additional weight and operating forces exerted during use. Typical fixing details are shown on this data sheet with full installation instructions available on request.

OPERATION
The panel is fitted with a choice of lock. The door is operated with a supplied key through a chrome escutcheon or round keyhole in the door face following removal of a white plastic cap (Additional keys and caps are available from Profab). The doors open outwards towards the operative. Security locks (SL) and 3-point locks (3PL) incorporate a captive key facility that assists the operator in opening larger doors.
